CD replication is often referred to as 'pressing'. Pressing is a left over from the previous days of vinyl pressing. While the two processes are similar, there is a massive technological difference between the two. However, the two words tend to be used interchangeably.

Replicated CD is the highest quality method of manufacture available to you.

Chances are that just about every CD in your personal audio collection and pretty much every piece of software on disc that you have are replicated CD. Unlike burned orduplicated CD, the pits in the disc are a physical, unchangeable structure. This gives the disc a very long lifespan. It's also exceptionally economical for longer production runs.

Being so inexpensive, it makes it a fantastic medium for either delivering content, such as catalogues or for marketing purposes. Small enough to be posted cheaply but sensitive to the environment in using only 17 grams of material. When was the last time you received a catalogue in the mail? How much did it weigh?

CD is an obvious environmentally sensible tool for all kinds of business and entertainment purposes.
